Love It Madly, Need It Badly or Don’t Buy It
For budget minded people, sales are a natural gravitational pull. They cannot resist buying something on sale if it is a super bargain. But sales shopping can be hazardous to the credit card bill, not to mention the closet space. When I am evaluating clients’ wardrobe, the mistakes I see are invariably bought on sale. Avoid mistakes by being prepared. Make a shopping list of what you need to replace or want to add to your wardrobe. Take time to apply your makeup and fix your hair so there is no question whether it’s the sale item or your unkempt appearance that does not look good. Also, educate yourself on what color, styles and lengths of garments are most flattering. Most women keep buying because they have no idea what is flattering. Spending some money to learn what colors and styles are flattering will save you lots of money in the long run. You will be able to go into a clothing store and resist buying something because you know it will not look good. You do not have to rely on a salesperson to tell you to buy it. You take control of the sale. My Bronze Image Package gives you all the knowledge you need to be an educated shopper. I am a big believer in sales shopping and buy many of my own clothes on sale. I encourage you to go to the sales rack, BUT you should only buy it if you would buy it full price if money is not an object. Usually, sales items are put on sale at the end of the season. Buying basics that you will need next year are good sales purchases. One mistake I see often is buying “designer” brands on sale because the client thinks she should have a garment from that designer even though it does not look good on her. It is sort of a status thing. No one is seeing the label while you are wearing it, so don’t do it. My motto: “LOVE IT MADLY OR NEED IT BADLY OR DON’T BUY IT.” |
