What Kind of Serum Is Right For You?

What Kind of Serum Is Right For You?

If you are a woman over the age of 20, you need to be using the proper skin care to prolong and accentuate the natural beauty of your skin! That includes facial serums. Serums are typically a water based (or gel based) liquid that does not block pores and achieves a specific result quickly. Serums are basically an intensive and lightweight moisturizer and can be used in place of a moisturizer if you have really oily skin, if you don’t we recommend putting your moisturizer  applying a serum. But there are so many different kinds of serums, which one do I use? Well, here are the different types and their purpose:

  1. Anti-aging

Anti-aging is what women 40 and over should start using because of the target goal. These types of serums are used to slow down the process of aging by targeting fine lines, sagging, and wrinkles while also tightening and plumping the face leaving a firm and bright face. Most anti-aging serums increase the cell renewal process and have collagen, or increase collagen production, in the ingredients which will act as a form of rejuvenation for the perfect skin care routine. Along with collagen, most anti-aging serums have retinol among their ingredients. Since this type of product is much stronger than normal serums, we suggest that you only use it at night, before applying your moisturizer. We have the perfect serum here at Stoltz Image called the Botanical Bio-Peptide Concentrate Serum. We’ve seen changes in our skin after only using it for one week with noticeably less fine lines and wrinkles.

  1. Skin brightening

If you have a problem with dull skin, this will be your saving grace. Brightening serums act as a smoothing your natural complexion and slowly removing dark spots while also evening skin tone. We would recommend our Enzyme Serum which noticeably removes dead skin cells and leaves a bright and happy face.

  1. Hydrating

Hydrating serums can sometimes be the one thing that helps dry and dehydrated skin when moisturizers just aren’t enough. With a serum and moisturizer combo your skin will feel so rejuvenated and soft because the specific purpose of a hydrating serum. These serums aim to deeply penetrate the skin as well as your pores for another layer of extra hydration. I recommend our Skin Transforming Serum which will improve radiance and smooth the skin for an even skin tone.

  1. Reparative, or renewal

A reparative serum is similar to the anti-aging, but is targeted toward restoring the skin by enhancing radiance by giving that dewy complexion. This is good for someone who has acne scars, dark spots, or post-tanning bed days. This will sluff off dead skin and improve the overall tone of your skin and improve the skin’s natural ability to repair and replenish. As well as increases collagen and cell growth. We recommend either our Skin Transforming Serum or our Botanical Bio-Peptide Concentrate Serum. These serums target the renewal and repairing of your gorgeous skin.

If you don’t already wear a serum, start using one today. Everyone needs good skin care. If you’re still curious and want to know more, call us at the studio or come in and let us help you find the perfect serum and skin care routine!
