Hair Tips from a Master Stylist

Some fabulous hair tips from Nicanor Amper III, Master stylist.

For curly hair always finish with a leave-in conditioner and curl cream. Curl cream: to isolate curly hair. Use a leave in conditioner/cream such as Eufora. Be sure to comb through.

If your hair is oily you actually need to reset the oil balance in your hair.  Conditioning is the most important thing when it comes to healthy hair and creating the correct balance of moisture.  To reset balance in hair you need to condition every day and only shampoo once a week.  Yes, that is correct, try to only shampoo once a week to reset the balance.   It may seem counterproductive but you actually need to balance out the oils instead of stripping the hair of its natural oils and causing it to produce more oil.

For a wonderful hair conditioner that will help rebuild the protein in your hair mix:

1-2 oz. heavy conditioner (it should include some kind of oil, for example coconut oil in the ingredients)

2 t. table salt

Juice of one whole, fresh lemon (do not use a concentrate)

Wet hair.  Apply mix over hair. Cover with a plastic cap and apply heat. (try a hair dryer)

Apply heat until hair is steamy and hot.  Keep hot for 10 minutes.

Rinse with a chelating shampoo.Hair Tips from a Master Stylist

Rinse with regular shampoo and follow with a good conditioner.

Try this once a week for healthy hair that shines!

Tip 2:  Use a boar bristle brush to brush your hair daily.  This brush will help stimulate the scalp and spread the hair’s natural oil throughout the hair.
